Anniversary Trips
The whole point of an anniversary getaway is time together without the usual house, the usual routine, or anyone else's schedule. The two decks carry the trip: coffee on the lower deck in the morning, wine on the upper deck once the sun starts dropping behind the ridge. Pick a milestone year and build the trip around it. A first anniversary might mean recreating your wedding weekend's mood. A tenth might mean finally taking the trip you kept putting off.

Birthday Trips
A birthday getaway works best when one person's plans take priority for the weekend. Ask what they'd actually pick: a day at The Island or a dinner show, or a day doing nothing but sitting on a deck with a book. Both are easy to build around this cabin since nothing here requires a fixed schedule.
A round number (30th, 40th, 50th) is a good excuse to book further out and further in advance, since cabins near the Parkway fill up fastest around holiday weekends and peak fall dates.

If you're planning to propose, the upper deck at golden hour is the obvious answer: a mountain view, a quiet moment, no strangers walking through the shot. Scout the light before the trip if you can. Late afternoon in fall gives the most dramatic color; a clear morning in winter gives the widest, sharpest mountain view.
